History and Evolution of KOTIBA

Our Origins

Persatuan TIBA was founded in 1962 as a grassroots youth movement by:

  • Awang Yaakub bin Ahmad
  • Awang Gharif bin Datu Seri Lela Samat
  • Awang Harun bin Datu Seri Lela Samat

The association initially aimed to foster unity and collaboration among residents of three villages:

  • Kampung Salambigar
  • Kampung Tanah Jambu & Salar
  • Kampung Sungai Tilong & Manggis

Originally named Persatuan Tiga Kampung Bersatu (Three United Villages Association), or TIBA, the organization focused on social cohesion and community development among youth from these neighboring villages.

Becoming a Cooperative

Becoming a Cooperative TIBA gradually evolved into an economic cooperative, forming KOTIBA Cooperation.

Today, it enables members from the three villages to take part in joint economic ventures and share in collective growth and prosperity.

Our Mission Today

KOTIBA continues to uphold its founding spirit, focusing on:

  • Unity and progress
  • Economic sustainability
  • Empowerment of member communities
